CMAI Or­gan­ises Free Eye Check-Up Camps for Work­men at As­meeta Texpa, Bhi­wandi

As part of the Cor­po­rate So­cial Re­spon­si­bil­ity of the As­so­ci­a­tion, the Cloth­ing Man­u­fac­tur­ers As­so­ci­a­tion of In­dia (CMAI) or­gan­ised two free eye check-up camps for the work­men in the gar­ment in­dus­try on May 25 to May 26, 2018 and June 8 to June 9, 2018 at As­meeta Texpa, Bhi­wandi. The eye check-up camps were con­ducted by doc­tors from the Vi­sion Foun­da­tion of In­dia. As­meeta Texpa is an ap­parel park com­pris­ing gar­ment fac­to­ries with ap­prox. 15,000 work­men work­ing in var­i­ous gar­ment units of the com­plex.

Dur­ing the two eye check-up camps, the team of doc­tors from the Vi­sion Foun­da­tion of In­dia ex­am­ined 1,482 work­men and the As­so­ci­a­tion dis­trib­uted 411 read­ing glasses and 574 bi­fo­cal glasses, as pre­scribed by the doc­tors, free of cost to the needy work­men.

The Mem­bers of the CSR Sub-Com­mit­tee and Mem­bers hav­ing their fac­to­ries in the As­meeta Texpa Com­plex ac­tively par­tic­i­pated in these camps and ap­pre­ci­ated the ef­forts of CMAI for ar­rang­ing the eye check-up camps and the free dis­tri­bu­tion of read­ing and bi­fo­cal glasses to their work­men.
