CMAI Organises Free Eye Check-Up Camps for Workmen at Asmeeta Texpa, Bhiwandi
As part of the Corporate Social Responsibility of the Association, the Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI) organised two free eye check-up camps for the workmen in the garment industry on May 25 to May 26, 2018 and June 8 to June 9, 2018 at Asmeeta Texpa, Bhiwandi. The eye check-up camps were conducted by doctors from the Vision Foundation of India. Asmeeta Texpa is an apparel park comprising garment factories with approx. 15,000 workmen working in various garment units of the complex.
During the two eye check-up camps, the team of doctors from the Vision Foundation of India examined 1,482 workmen and the Association distributed 411 reading glasses and 574 bifocal glasses, as prescribed by the doctors, free of cost to the needy workmen.
The Members of the CSR Sub-Committee and Members having their factories in the Asmeeta Texpa Complex actively participated in these camps and appreciated the efforts of CMAI for arranging the eye check-up camps and the free distribution of reading and bifocal glasses to their workmen.
