Ms Mala Al­wani is the Founder of lead­ing e-com­merce brand BESIVA, and started the brand in 2013 when she no­ticed a gap in the mar­ket for trendy yet af­ford­able western wear, while work­ing as a con­sul­tant at EY in Lon­don in 2011. An alum­nus of Im­pe­rial Col­lege Lon­don and Lon­don Busi­ness School, Al­wani de­cided to re­turn to In­dia and har­ness the op­por­tu­nity that e-com­merce pro­vided. She cre­ated BESIVA to solve the on­line shop­per’s prob­lem of find­ing the right fash­ion­able clothes, by cre­at­ing de­signs specif­i­cally for the In­dian cus­tomer while keep­ing in mind the in­ter­na­tional fash­ion scene. Bridg­ing the gap be­tween lux­ury and fast fash­ion, BESIVA tar­gets fash­ion­con­scious yet price-sen­si­tive young In­dian women who have a de­sire for qual­ity and styles that not only fit right but also suit their body type and com­plex­ion. When not at work, Al­wani’s favourite recre­ational ac­tiv­i­ties in­clude trav­el­ling and cook­ing.
