Ms Mala Alwani is the Founder of leading e-commerce brand BESIVA, and started the brand in 2013 when she noticed a gap in the market for trendy yet affordable western wear, while working as a consultant at EY in London in 2011. An alumnus of Imperial College London and London Business School, Alwani decided to return to India and harness the opportunity that e-commerce provided. She created BESIVA to solve the online shopper’s problem of finding the right fashionable clothes, by creating designs specifically for the Indian customer while keeping in mind the international fashion scene. Bridging the gap between luxury and fast fashion, BESIVA targets fashionconscious yet price-sensitive young Indian women who have a desire for quality and styles that not only fit right but also suit their body type and complexion. When not at work, Alwani’s favourite recreational activities include travelling and cooking.
