Jaipur Rugs Company, the brainchild of Founder Nand Kishore Chaudhary, is one of India’s foremost names in artisanal hand- knotted rugs. Known to give traditional carpet weaving a fresh lease of life, the Jaipur- based label weaves quality craftsmanship and authenticity with innovative design. The brand, with its reach in 45 countries, has its presence in India, USA and China After their first store in Delhi in 2016 the new boutique in Mumbai is Jaipur Rugs Company’s second flagship store.

A minimalist’s delight, the store is sprawled across 4,000 sq ft, with a focus on raw natural materials like cement, wood and metal, in keeping with the industrial theme by Mumbai- based interior designer Ravi Vazirani. The boutique also has an experiential chamber and seating space, where customers can design their own rugs and watch a traditional weaver on the loom. The store will also have a gallery viewing of unseen rugs, either one- off exclusive pieces or heirloom pieces owned by the family, at the mezzanine level.

Speaking at the launch, Jaipur Rugs Company Founder Nand Kishore Chaudhary says, “We are thrilled to finally open in Mumbai. While Jaipur Rugs Company is privileged to have its loyal patrons from the city who regularly shop online, I feel the offline experience will bring clients, old

and new, closer to us, and see the brand in a different light. Each rug has a story to tell, and our endeavor has been to bring that narrative from the weaver, to the customer, in the most honest way possible.”

Adding to this, Yogesh Chaudhary, Director of the company says, “Mumbai is an important market for us and we’re happy we could finally launch the Jaipur Rugs store in the city. Our aim is to cater to our clients across the globe and we hope to launch more stores in the coming years”.
