PROJECTS BY THE STUDENTS OF THE DESIGN VILLAGE
THE INDIA PAVILION, FRANCE
The India pavilion at Boisbuchet celebrates the coming together of space, material and light to create experiences in architecture that are cognitive of the glorious Indian civilization. The former structure of the UN Shelter Pavillion is used as a basis for this project. While the brief of the UN Pavilion is to address architecture as human shelter in the aftermath of a disaster, the larger picture attempts to symbolise what happens ‘ after the aftermath’ of the same.
THE CATTERY PROJECT FOR PEOPLE FOR ANIMALS
The Cattery Project conceptualised and designed for People for Animals — a not for profit organisation by Menaka Gandhi. The brief was to design a cattery — a shelter for 50 stray and injured cats at the People for Animal shelter.
ENHANCING TOURISM IN MEGHALAYA, GOVT OF MEGHALAYA
As consultants for the Tourism of Meghalaya the brief was to come up with strategic/ systemic level interventions to increase curiosity and invite appreciation for the culture, craft and biodiversity of the Nokrek and Jakrem regions of Meghalaya. The intervention in a broader sense is aimed at increasing the tourist footfall in the region without being physically situated merely in the region. This was achieved through stories focusing on the region’s craft.
GUESS THE MOVIE CHALLENGE, FOR AMITABH BACHCHAN
Students of The Design Village designed a series of posters for actor Amitabh Bachchan for his social media- ‘ Guess the Film’ challenge. These had clues from his movies- songs, dialogues, outfits and props.
