“Design is Everything,” says Rooshad Shroff. We couldn’t agree more, design is everything, design is in everything we touch, feel and experience. From solving our simplest existential problems, to creating something absolutely fantastical, design is the protagonist.

Shroff uses design as a tool to bring together the artisans and craftsmen of India, to make craft relevant again. In our cover feature, we talk to Shroff about his explorations and experiments in design, of his innate ability to work with multiple influences and yet come up with something that’s unique.

This month, it’s all about India. The reigning theme of this Issue is #InspiredbyIndia. So, it’s a super powerful Issue brimming with creatives from India and around India, who’ve been strong advocates of Indian design, who’ve rewritten the Indian Modern narrative. The campaign extends to our digital platform as well. So, stay tuned!

This Issue is special for more reasons than one. We bring to you an exclusive interview with the powerhouse of design: Thomas Heatherwick, the man whose repertoire includes skyscrapers, the London Olympic Cauldron, a distillery, a car and a little bridge in Paddington that lifts up from one end and ‘kisses’ itself. We have Jing Zhang, Editor, Prestige Online to thank for this insightful interview.

We also embark on two very interesting collaborations this month. For the coming few months, architect Shobhan Kothari, Founder, ADND and Nishita Kamdar, Founder, Studio Nishita Kamdar will give their insights on pertinent topics from the world of architecture and design. And yes, working on the cover shoot with Meetesh Taneja was an amazingly brilliant experience!
