MATTEO CIBIC X SCARLET SPLENDOUR

-

Matteo Cibic loves experimenting with mediums, crafts, and techniques. He doesn’t restrict himself to any form of expression. For that very reason, he is often addressed as a transmedia designer. His work exudes a perfect balance of luxury and humour, contemporary design, and artisanal flair. Contemporary Indian brand Scarlet Splendour founded by Ashish Bajoria and Suman Kanodia collaborated with Cibic with the aim to bring together the intricacies of Indian craftsmanship with the designer’s quirky aesthetics. “For the Vanilla Noir Collection, I thought to match the decorations of the Florence Renaissance buildings with black and white marble stripes, with the iconic intricate inlay works of India, in order to create a very sculptural and architectonic furniture that could be produced only by the experienced hands of Indian carpenters and inlay masters,” says the designer about his collection for Scarlet Splendour.
