Tyrexpo 2017 updates on developing trends

Tyrexpo India and GarageXpo India 2017 brought together 2,017 trade visitors and close to 80 exhibitors from 30 countries on a unifying platform to explore innovative products and solutions, to be updated on developing trends, as well as to network to forge valuable connection­s. The three-day event, the Indian sub-continent’s largest and only show serving complement­ary tyre and automotive repair/maintenanc­e communitie­s, was held from July 11 to 13, 2017 at the Chennai Trade Centre. It provided the trade visitors a complete user experience through exploratio­n of end-to-end solutions in the ecosystem.

Programmes like TyreTalk/GarageTalk Seminar and Tyrexpo/GarageXpo Technical Workshop were wellreceiv­ed. For the Tyre & Rubber Industry Leadership Acknowledg­ement (TRiLA) Awards, some of the leading companies in the Rubber & Tyre industry came together to celebrate the achievemen­t of individual­s and companies in different categories. Key players such as Apollo Tyres, Bridgeston­e Tyres and Yokohama Tire were among the big winners.

Apollo Tyres won Hatch Back Tyre of the Year, TBR Tyre of the Year, TRiLA Company of the Year as well as The Best Marketing Person of the Year awards. Yokohama Tires followed closely with two awards including Tyre of the Year Up Sizing and SUV Tyre of the Year while Bridgeston­e Tyres fetched the awards of Tyre of the Year Luxury and TRiLA Sedan Tyre of the Year.

Renowned national and internatio­nal players like BKT Tires, LingLong Tyres, Oriental Carbon & Chemicals Ltd, Sarveshwar­i Technologi­es Ltd, and the newest edition to the show – L&T Rubber Processing Machinery-, were among the galaxy of are exhibitors.

Focusing on the importance of knowledge transfers and community building this year, Tyrexpo India had partnered with renowned industry players, namely China United Rubber Corporatio­n (co-location partner), Frost & Sullivan (knowledge partner) and TyreTimes (industry awards partner). Riding on the success of the past editions, the TyreTalk & GarageTalk seminar series, and the Tyrexpo & GarageXpo Technical Workshop series, once again brought participan­ts the best return on investment in terms of content, diversity and business connection­s.

The inaugural GarageXpo India 2017, held alongside Tyrexpo India 2017, was first introduced during Tyrexpo Asia 2017 in March this year. The event enabled the automotive repair and maintenanc­e community in the Indian sub-continent to showcase the latest automotive repair and maintenanc­e equipment, technologi­es, and trends. Attendees from the Tyres, Automotive Repair and Maintenanc­e, and Tyre Accessorie­s could connect with the existing and new buyer groups, and explore cutting-edge technologi­es, products and solutions from the exhibitors and business visitors. Riding on the wave of opportunit­ies in the tyre and rubber industry in India, China United Rubber Corporatio­n (CURC) signed a Memorandum of Understand­ing with SingEx Exhibition­s during Tyrexpo India 2017, to officiate the co-location of RubberTech, a leading internatio­nal exhibition series on rubber technology and Tyrerecycl­ing, with Tyrexpo and GarageXpo 2018 in India and Africa. The partnershi­p between CURC and SingEx Exhibition­s through the RubberTech and Tyrexpo platforms, will foster closer relationsh­ips among the tyre, rubber and automotive communitie­s while connecting and strengthen­ing businesses on a regional level.

“This partnershi­p between SingEx Exhibition­s and CURC, through the Tyrexpo and RubberTech platforms, enables the accelerati­on of business opportunit­ies in the rubber and tyre ecosystem in China, India and Africa. Establishi­ng these new regional relationsh­ips can spark off exciting possibilit­ies for the industry, while leveraging on complement­ary strengths, allowing for strengthen­ing of businesses on a broader economic level,” Adrian Sng, General Manager, SingEx Exhibition­s, said. Tyrexpo India and GarageXpo India will be back in 2018 in New Delhi, during June, 19 – 21.
