Updates to starter-AMGs in India

CELEBRATIN­G AMG’S 50th birthday, Mercedes-Benz has launched two new AMG-tuned models in the country – the Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 and GLA 45 4Matic. Both cars get their power from a 2.0-litre turbocharg­ed four-cylinder engine, producing 375bhp and 475Nm of torque. While the CLA has the ability to hit the 0-100kmph mark in 4.2 seconds, the GLA manages to do the same run in 4.4 seconds. Design and performanc­e changes to the CLA include a new front spoiler, new AMG front apron with a new A-wing design and louvres in the outer air intake. The changes have also helped the car become more slippery, reducing the drag coefficien­t to 0.30.

Design changes to the GLA also include a new AMG lip spoiler for more downforce, new front apron, louvres in the three air intakes, front splitter insert in chrome, detailing in high gloss black and the AMG radiator grille finished in chrome. Both cars feature interiors finished in exclusive materials. While the GLA 45 features Artico manmade leather on the dashboard with red top-stitching, the CLA 45 features Artico leather on the dashboard and the beltlines with red top-stitching. Prices for the smallest AMG twins India gets start at Rs 75.2 lakh for the CLA 45, while the GLA 45 is priced at Rs 77.85 lakh (ex-showroom). The ‘aero edition’ of both cars cost Rs 77.69 lakh and Rs 80.67 lakh (all prices are ex-showroom) respective­ly.
