Tesla Motors surprise package

AT THE unveiling ceremony of their new Semi all-electric truck, Tesla had a surprise awaiting the guests in the back of the truck—the Tesla Roadster. While the Semi was supposed to be the highlight of the show, the Roadster instantly stole the show. Tesla CEO, Elon Musk revealed that when launched in 2020, the car will be the fastest accelerating production car and will have the ability to go from 0-100kmph in just 1.9 seconds and do the quarter mile sprint in 8.9 seconds. The record for the fastest accelerating time till date is held by Tesla’s Model S at 2.28 seconds and the fastest quarter mile time is held by Dodge’s Challenger SRT Demon at 9.65 seconds. The battery pack will enable the new Roadster to go on to hit a top speed of 250kmph and give it a driving range of almost 1,000km. The impressive acceleration is aided by the allwheel-drive technology, use of aerodynamic advancements and lightweight construction. The car will get a removable glass roof which can be stored in the boot. It has seating capacity for four adults.
