The 2018 Honda CB1000R features a very retro style complete with a round LED headlamp. A horseshoe shaped LED strip works as a day time running light too. The swingarmmounted rear mudguard unit adds to the design theme and at the same time is a Honda first. A 998cc DOHC four-cylinder engine shares the same architecture and layout as CBR1000RR and now employs forged pistons. Other interesting inclusions include throttle-by-wire tech which opens the door to four riding modes (Standard, Sport, Rain, and User), as well as Engine Brake and Honda Selectable Torque Control.
