Relief for vintage cars
OVER THE past few years, vintage and classic car buffs have been under immense pressure after the National Green Tribunal banned vehicles more than 15 year old in Delhi NCR. HMCI had been spearheading a move which would allow exemptions for these vehicles. After consideration, the Tribunal passed an order allowing vintage cars more than 50 years old from the date of registration to ply on the roads for purposes of exhibitions, rallies and maintenance. Such cars are however not to be driven on the road for regular transport purposes. The NGT has also asked HMCI as part of its environmental and social responsibility to plant some trees and install dustbins on the roads in Delhi.
