New R1 in stores
YAMAHA’S YZF-R1 superbike is among the best out there and post a major overhaul in 2015, the manufacturer has been constantly tweaking certain elements to make it even better. For 2018, the new YZF-R1 gets an updated quick shifter. Yamaha’s Quick Shift System or QSS now allows full throttle clutch-less upshifting apart from its downshifting capability. For the latter, the electronic control unit matches engine speed with automatic throttle blips for instant gear changes without disrupting the chassis allowing for more aggressive downshifts . Öhlins Electronic Racing Suspension is another addition which uses data from the inertial measurement unit to adjust the fork and shock settings that can be further fine-tuned through the YRC Setting smartphone app. Yamaha has also updated the bike’s lift control system for better control under acceleration. The 2018 Yamaha YZF-R1 will be imported as a CBU and is priced at Rs 20,73,074 exshowroom, Delhi.
