ENTHUSIASTS WILL recall that the LM002 was the first SUV from the house of Lamborghini. Now, nearly three decades later, the company has another one called the Urus. According to Lamborghini, the name is inspired by a rather famous Spanish fighting bull and that it was apt for the SUV.

The Urus is based on the same MLB Evo platform which is also what the Audi Q7 uses. However the Urus is powered with a mega 4-litre V8 engine, good for 641bhp and 850Nm of torque. Power is sent to the wheels using an eight-speed automatic gearbox and complex all-wheel-drive system featuring active torque vectoring and four-wheel steering. The AWD system sends 60 percent of its torque to the rear wheels in normal driving conditions, but can instantly force up to 70 percent to the front wheels to increase traction. Equally, it can send 87 percent of the engine’s torque to the rear if necessary. Driving modes include Strada, Sport, Corsa, Terra (off-road), Neve (snow) and Sabbia (sand). The Urus also gets carbon ceramic brakes, adaptive air suspension and active roll stabilisation. As far as performance goes, the Urus can get from the 0-100kmph mark in 3.6 seconds and has a top speed of 305kmph.

Lastly, speaking of the looks, Urus comes across as the ultimate bad boy mean machine. If you thought, the exterior is incredible, wait until you look inside and get stunned by the plush and sophisticated interiors. The SUV accommodaes five people and the good news is that the SUV hits Indian roads soon.
