The fuel tanks have also been reposition­ed to the side of the bike. This is all done to improve mass centralisa­tion as per the company. It is also said to improve riding ergonomics. The bike also gets a transparen­t flyscreen upfront which will offer riders a better front view of the motorcycle.

The 2018 team comprises of three riders. The first being our home-grown champion CS Santosh who will be competing with the number 49. Santosh has teamed up with Portuguese racer Joaquim Rodrigues and the Spaniard Oriol Mena. Speaking of his preparatio­n for the mega rally, Rider CS Santosh, Hero MotoSports Team Rally ellaborate­d saying, “I am satisfied with this year’s preparatio­ns, where I had the opportunit­y to work with industry profession­als and experts, which brought in a better structure to the preparatio­ns. I am very happy with the new bike that we raced with at the OiLibiya Rally in October. The new bike is light, agile and makes going fast safe! This Dakar I will aim to make each and every day count! Ultimately it’s about enjoying the process and arriving at the finish line.”
