Maruti-Suzuki Dzire
AFTER A SERVICE, THE 1.3 DDIS ENGINE DEFINITELY FELT SMOOTHER AND WAS REVVING MORE FREELY
Two airbags | Auto climate control | All Power Windows | Keyless entry | Electric ORVMs | Projector headlamps, LED DRLs | Audio sys with CD, USB, Aux | Standard Warranty 2yr/40,000km
Having completed over 10,000km, the Dzire is back from a scheduled service. Of course, like most car nerds, I was eagerly awaiting the return of the car to see if the engine ran better with fresh oil. The first push of the start/stop button didn’t disappoint, with the 1.3 DDiS engine definitely idling smoother, not to mention, revving out more freely and overall sounding happier. According to the service manual, the only replacements at the 10,000km service, is the engine oil and filter. Though thanks to the post-apocalyptic air conditions in Delhi NCR, the service engineers changed out the air filter cleaner element as well. Examining the old filter shows that was probably the smart thing to do. In case you were wondering, the service manual only recommends replacing this part every 20,000km, while cleaning isn’t required. That apart, we had asked if the interior could be cleaned to remove some coffee stains, which had magically reached the roof liner. The cabin was dry-cleaned and is spotless now, except for a few stubborn stains which are much fainter now. Light colour interiors look good but, they sure are a pain to keep clean. We haven’t had a chance yet to see how fuel efficiency improved after the service but the on-board computer seems to be reading about half kmpl higher in the same conditions. We’ll fill you in next time.
