Mahin­dra XUV500 gets a facelift

MAHIN­DRA HAS been teas­ing the XUV500’s facelift for a while. The com­pany launched the new XUV500 and there are plenty of new as­pects to look for­ward to; like the front grille is now big­ger with a new mesh-like de­sign. The car also gets up­dated bumpers and head­lamps with DRLs fin­ished in chrome. Un­der the hood, the top-spec vari­ant XUV 500 will get a more pow­er­ful ver­sion of the 2.2-litre mHawk diesel en­gine. The en­gine now pro­duces 155bhp and 360Nm in the top-end vari­ant. The lower end vari­ants will con­tinue to get 140bhp and 330Nm en­gine. Mahin­dra will also be of­fer­ing a petrol vari­ant. As for the in­te­ri­ors, they cer­tainly have got­ten posher and now come in a tan and black theme; in the new quilted tan leather seats, a soft­touch leather dash­board and door trims along with a new pi­ano-black cen­ter con­sole. The XUV500 will be avail­able in seven new colours - New Crim­son Red, New Mys­tic Cop­per, Pearl White, Vol­cano Black, Moon­dust Sil­ver, Op­u­lent Pur­ple, and Lake Side Brown. Prices start at Rs 12.32 lakh.
