Fifth gen RAV4 crosses over
It’s been around since 1994, was the fourth most successful vehicle in America last year and, finally, the fifth generation RAV4 was unveiled at New York. Based on Toyota’s New Global Architecture platform, styling moves away from soft-roader and embraces its crossover SUV marketing fully. It’ll also be available in three distinctly styled variants. The 2.5-litre petrol engine will continue, with an 8 speed automatic and a choice of front-wheel or all-wheel drive. The cabin has been freshened up and new features include Apple CarPlay for the 7/8-inch infotainment, wireless charging and driver assists like emergency braking, lane assist and adaptive cruise control. Considering the RAV4 is Honda CR-V sized, we can only cross our fingers and hope that it comes to our country.
