The Hexa has been with us for the past few months and we’ve covered nearly 6,000km plus during this short stint. To begin with, the Hexa which we received came with a already high figure on the odometer; 30,000km to be precise. However, the big people mover has proved to be far more reliable than we imagined. Here’s what we liked about it and a few aspects that we didn’t.

The Hexa is a big and spacious car and the first thing which shone was the air conditioning perfor- mance. The unit cools the big cabin quickly. Partly also because the whole greenhouse comes with numerous air conditioning vents. Though the front has the standards four vents, in the rear, vents on the B-pillar and the centre console are largely responsible for the outstanding overall cooling. The rear AC also gets its own controls. We also loved the audio system on the Hexa. The speakers are well tuned and offer good sound quality. However the infotainment system display could have been larger. All in all, the Hexa

makes for a brilliant ride coupled with an excellent handling package. The suspension absorbs bumps with ease and at the same time the set up allows the driver to have some fun around corners as well. We love the motor as well that offers ample grunt and good fuel economy at the same time. The autobox is also well tuned and shifts seamlessly.

As for the aspects that we didn’t dig. The centre console could do with more storage space, we think. This is despite of twin glove boxes and a cubby hole under the armrest. While the rear seats are extremely comfortable, space in the third row is not comfortable for long distances. In addition the wiper operation could have been of better quality. The wipe field is not large enough to clean the windscreen and making things tougher is the unique wiper movement. Another oddity comes in form of ingress/egress. Due to the large ground clearance, getting in could be difficult for the elderly. We believe the Hexa could be a complete package in the upgraded version.
