Tata roll-out 1,500th Safari for the army

CELEBRATIN­G A milestone for the company and in service to the Indian army, Tata Motors rolled out its 1500th GS800 (General Service 800) Safari Storme 4x4 to the armed forces. The company clinched an order earlier to supply 3,192 units of the SUV that specially designed to meet the their requiremen­ts with a minimum payload capacity of 800kg and offers higher power and more torque than the regular model the company claims. The GS800 Safari Storme is a fully loaded vehicle packed with special features such as ABS, recovery hooks, jerry can and fog lamps to suit army requiremen­t during missions. Being a low maintenanc­e vehicle, it comes with bucket seats, mobile charging point, AC/heating, power windows and ample space inside the cabin to accommodat­e six crew members comfortabl­y. The 1500th vehicle was rolled out with a ceremonial flag off by Dr. Subhash Bhamre, MoS, defence, Government of India along with Vernon Noronha, vice president, defence and government business, Tata Motors at its Pune facility.
