The other CR-V option
We also drove the FWD CR-V powered by the same 1.6-litre turbo diesel engine and the car seemed lighter and more agile without any loss in traction even in wet conditions. The most difference was in the fuel efficiency and immediately we could see 2-4kmpl more on a similar terrain. However, it is only the top-of-the-line variant which is an AWD that comes with all the bells-and-whistles including the panoramic sunroof, all the camera and radar guided systems and all. Therefore, if you really want a premium car then the top-of-the-line is the one to go for but you additionally get an AWD car that may be of no use if, normal city driving and a few highway trips are all that you need a car for. However, given the increased ground clearance, the CR-V can definitely tackle some off-roading unlike the previous two generation CR-Vs that were getting more and more car-like. There will also be a petrol version powered by a 2-litre engine but in many markets that is available with only a five-seater option and that may well be the case in India too.
