Apart from regular tyres there are specialised ones available as well, like winter tyres. For off-roading also there are ty res which are grooved differently for improved grip. The most common, all terrain tyre, has deep grooves and larger tread patterns. If you are going to specifically tackle rocks, there are also specially designed tyres with grooves on their sidewall for additional grip on slippery rock. You can find a variety of brands available in India, including the JK Tyre Brute series, Yokohamas and Bridgestones. If you search hard enough, you can also find BF Goodrich tyres. Off-roading without a good quality tubeless tyre repair kit and extra rubber seals can be a huge mistake. Both repair kits and rubber sealant are easily available. You can also carry an electrical air compressor which works out of the 12V socket in the vehicle. The latter is a must if you will drive on sand since driving it requires reduction of tyre pressures and you will need to re-inflate them once on tarmac.
