The odometer of our RR 310 has only been inching forward as this month was all about riding the many motorcycles you see in this mega third anniversary issue. While riding high capacity ADVs and entrylevel sportbikes, the RR seems to constantly come back as a more practical solution. One motorcycle to do it all. Of course, a 600cc plus motorcycle is more aspirational while purchasing power definitely dictates their ownership. What is nearly forgotten about these motorcycles is the high cost of ownership and more importantly, costs of cosmetic parts in case of that inevitable crash, given our road conditions. A motorcycle like the RR 310 can easily keep up with bigger machinery at sane highway speeds. While the more ex- pensive machinery can afford more and bigger brakes along with complex electronics, the Apache RR 310 makes do with a dual channel ABS. Both motorcycles however, have an equal chances of hitting the deck in the event of a mishap. In the unfortunate event of a frontal impact, there may be damage to the beautiful bi-LED projected headlamps. That’ll set you back by Rs 21,390. Higher impact forces can damage the forks and even the highly informative meter console. Damage to your pocket? Rs 27,727 for the left and right hand side forks while the meter assembly will be an added Rs 7,825. That’s nearly Rs 57,000 without including fairing and bodywork. Mind you, the RR 310 may be an entry point into supersport motorcycling but TVS hasn’t skimped on using top-notch components and quality always comes at a price. The front suspension for example, greatly impresses with its damping ability at both slow and high speeds. Likewise, the expensive headlamps light up a dark stretch with enough visibility to carry speeds. So invest in a zero depreciation insurance policy and you won’t be hurting from massive repair bills or as much as your wounds would; which should also prompt you to purchase top-notch (complete) riding gear as your personal insurance.

TVS may we please have the rearsets on the RR 310 Cup bike? A motorcycle as quick as the RR more than deserves an aggressive riding position
