MMRT PLAYED host to the final round of the MRF MMSC fmsci Indian National Racing Championship 2018. The weekend saw Raghul Rangasamy from Mamallapuram clinch the championship in the MRF Formula 1600 category. Despite not winning any of the three races over the weekend, his final tally of 182 points was enough to edge out Chennai’s Goutham Parekh (174 points). Rangasamy’s triumph will see him enter this year’s Mazda Road to Indy shootout in the USA. 17-year old Sohil Shah (M Sport) won the Formula LGB 1300 championship in his debut season. His total of 154 points helped him beat Chennai’s 19-year old Ashwin Datta (Momentum Motorsport) by 4 points. Despite winning 5 races from 7 starts, missing the first round cost veteran Arjun Balu (Race Concepts) dearly losing the premium Indian Touring Cars championship to Bengaluru’s Ashish Ramaswamy (Arka Motorsports) by 6 points.
