Whenever you send your motorcycle for routine servicing, you obviously expect some gains in terms of performance. Getting your motorcycle serviced properly on or before time from an authorized service center will definitely translate to good results. Last week I got the RTR serviced towards the end of the monsoon season. Though, there were no major issues, the RTR 160 4V had accumulated a lot of grime and deposits, especially on the moving cycle parts having ridden extensively in the rain, crossing waterlogged roads on many occasions. Sticky mud deposited on most of the parts had dried, with the chain and sprocket suffering the worst as they’re exposed. Leaving them unattended degrades their functionality as well as life span. A slight noise was being let out while the chain and sprocket looked visibly dry too. The brake pads too had accumulated deposits thus weren’t as effective as before.

Post servicing the RTR came back as good as new. The brake pads were de-glazed and are back to performing effectively. Also, the overall performance has improved. Throttle response is crisper and with the chain being cleaned and lubricated, acceleration has also has improved. The engine feels more refined than before which has also made the fuel efficiency go up. I’ve been enjoying my time with the RTR 160 post its service.

A trip to the service centre has helped improve throttle response and has also resulted in an uptick in fuel efficiency
