Volvo launches new truck
VOLVO TRUCKS launched the FM 380 8x4 construction truck to enhance its presence in the Indian construction segment. The FM 380 8x4 joins FMX 460 8x4 and FM 460 8x4 tractor. The new truck comes equipped with a BSIV complaint 13-litre engine that is mated to the i-shift transmission with 12 forward and 4 reverse gears. The truck delivers 380bhp and 1,900 Nm. The company is looking at delivering high efficiency with enhanced features, strengthened chassis and a more powerful driveline configuration to get the job quickly for the customers. Volvo has introduced 23 Cu.M U-body and 19.5 Cu.M rock body options on FM 380 in India to serve the customers better as per their needs. India is currently witnessing road construction activity of over 40km per day and construction projects across quarrying, irrigation, hydel segments are picking up momentum for a while now. The sector has seen a growth over the years.
