Auto Today - - Update! -

AFTER MUCH waiting, Royal Enfield launched the company’s new 650cc twins - Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and Continental GT in India at a starting price of Rs. 2.50 lakh and Rs. 2.65 lakh respectively. Now, both the bikes will be offered in three variants - Standard, Classic, and Custom, and will be powered by the new 649cc, air and oil cooled, parallel-twin engine. This engine is good enough to punch out max power of 47bhp and 52Nm of peak torque. We have ridden both the motorcycles and we can claim that this is the smoothest and the most powerful Royal Enfield engine ever produced till date. Transmission duties are taken care by a 6-speed gearbox that comes with a slipper clutch for light lever operations. Both these motorcycles are capable enough to push the speedometer dial to 170kmph+ mark, minus the vibrations from the other models. Coming to the design part of the motorcycles, the 650cc twins are based on the original motorcycles of 1960-70s and retain the retro essence. The deliveries will start from December 1, 2018.
