F 850 GS gets more adventurous
Let’s begin with some good news; BMW might just launch this new F 850 GS Adventure here in India soon. So what’s this bike all about? The F 850 GS Adventure to begin with shares the same engine as the standard F 850 GS. So it is the same 853cc, parallel-twin engine. The engine makes 95bhp and 86Nm of torque. The new Adventure version gets a 23-litre fuel tank, and a larger windshield, which can be adjusted in two stages, as well as the hand protectors provide increased wind and weather protection.. It also gets adjustable gear and brake levers. The engine is now framed and protected by a crash bar, and also standard is a luggage rack at the rear. In addition to the basic version, the new F 850 GS Adventure is available in Exclusive and Rallye style variations. The Adventure also gets two riding modes - Rain and Road, together with ABS and automatic stability control (ASC). The F 850 GS Adventure can be fitted ex works with optional equipment, such as “Pro” riding modes and in turn the additional “Dynamic”, “Enduro” and “Enduro Pro” riding modes as well as the DTC dynamic traction control and banking capable ABS Pro. Other features include electronic suspension, dynamic traction control, as well as a 6.5-inch TFT colour display.
The F 850 GS Adventure comes with a 23-litre fuel tank which according to BMW offers a 550km range. A full colour TFT LCD instrument panel screen is available as an option. A crash guard also covers up the engine in case of a crash
