F 850 GS gets more ad­ven­tur­ous

Let’s be­gin with some good news; BMW might just launch this new F 850 GS Ad­ven­ture here in In­dia soon. So what’s this bike all about? The F 850 GS Ad­ven­ture to be­gin with shares the same en­gine as the stan­dard F 850 GS. So it is the same 853cc, par­al­lel-twin en­gine. The en­gine makes 95bhp and 86Nm of torque. The new Ad­ven­ture ver­sion gets a 23-litre fuel tank, and a larger wind­shield, which can be ad­justed in two stages, as well as the hand pro­tec­tors pro­vide in­creased wind and weather pro­tec­tion.. It also gets ad­justable gear and brake levers. The en­gine is now framed and pro­tected by a crash bar, and also stan­dard is a lug­gage rack at the rear. In ad­di­tion to the ba­sic ver­sion, the new F 850 GS Ad­ven­ture is avail­able in Ex­clu­sive and Ral­lye style vari­a­tions. The Ad­ven­ture also gets two rid­ing modes - Rain and Road, to­gether with ABS and au­to­matic sta­bil­ity con­trol (ASC). The F 850 GS Ad­ven­ture can be fit­ted ex works with op­tional equip­ment, such as “Pro” rid­ing modes and in turn the ad­di­tional “Dy­namic”, “En­duro” and “En­duro Pro” rid­ing modes as well as the DTC dy­namic trac­tion con­trol and bank­ing ca­pa­ble ABS Pro. Other fea­tures in­clude elec­tronic sus­pen­sion, dy­namic trac­tion con­trol, as well as a 6.5-inch TFT colour dis­play.

The F 850 GS Ad­ven­ture comes with a 23-litre fuel tank which ac­cord­ing to BMW of­fers a 550km range. A full colour TFT LCD in­stru­ment panel screen is avail­able as an op­tion. A crash guard also cov­ers up the en­gine in case of a crash
