Let’s start by saying that many of you might not have heard of Kymco or even 22 Motors to be honest. But let us educate you that Kymco is one of the biggest two-wheeler manufacturers in Taiwan and that they sure know a thing or two about two-wheelers. 22 Motors on the other hand came into the foray last Auto Expo where they showcased electric bikes. Now both these companies have come forth and created a joint venture where they will manufacture twowheelers in India. Among the three they recently announced is this one which is called the Any Like internationally. We are sure that the company will rename this scoot when they officially open doors to their dealerships.

The Any Like comes with a rather retro design with hints of chrome around. The flowing design reminds one of a certain Italian scooter brand and we like that. The front end features a telescopic suspension unit and disc brakes as well. The 12in wheels are finished well and we like the contrasting colour themes as well. The Any Like comes with a rather snazzy all digital instrument panel.

The speedo designs can also be changed using the switch gear. Quite fancy! Then there is the fuel gauge and a digital speedo readout as well apart from other tell tales. The quality of plastics at certain ends though need to be better. Things like the glove box lid feels flimsy and could do with an upgrade. The glove box also houses a USB charging point. The Any Like also comes with a unique fuel filler which is located on the floor of the scooter. This might look odd at the moment, but it reaps benefits in another criteria which we will get to a little later. The seat looks nicely done and is contoured as well. But we would have preferred a little more cushioning. Pop the seat and you will find a rather deep glove box good enough for a full face helmet thanks to the repositioned fuel tank. The rear section of the scoot also looks cool and there is more chrome here. Overall the Any Like is a smart looking scooter and worth having a look.

The Kymco is powered by a 150cc motor which churns out 13.5bhp and 11Nm of torque. This means that it is more powerful than the Aprilia SR 150! Add to it the fact that the Any Like weighs

119kg and this means that it is lighter too. Quite an interesting scene brewing here. Now let’s get to how this Taiwanese scoot performs. The motor feels pretty smooth on start up and idles well too. Throttle up an the take off will surprise you as the speedo darts towards the 80kmph mark. By this time you know that the Any Like means business. At these speeds, the scooter does not even feel stressed, something which we like. Keep it pinned and the top speed will be near to the 110kmph mark which is excellent for a little scooter like this. In city, the any Like cruises comfortably at 40kmph and feels light and nimble too. There is plenty of torque on tap too and this makes sudden accelerations easy. Taking a quick turn is easy and so is changing lanes. The comfortable riding position adds to the overall comfort levels. The scooter also handles corners well and all the Clover Leafs we rode around, we could take em at good speeds confidently. The twin shocks at the back add to the stability and overall feel. The suspension though is set a bit stiff. At high speeds, things are comfortable, but at lower speeds the jerks are felt prominently. For India though where a scoot is predominantly a runabout, a little softer setting would be better.
