BMWs most affordable 5-series

BMW INDIA launched the locally assembled trim of the 5 Series – the 530i Sport at Rs 55.40 lakhs (ex-showroom), making it the most affordable variant of the 5 in India and is assembled at the BMW Group’s Chennai facility.

The 530i Sport trim gets a reworked front bumper which is subdued as compared to other trims. There are gloss black trims on the exterior and the sedan sits on newly designed 17-inch alloy wheels. The list of features includes smart display key, gesture control, a rearview camera and ambient lighting. The 10.25-inch infotainme­nt system comes with 12-speaker system and mobile connectivi­ty.

The BS VI compliant 2.0-litre four-cylinder produces 250bhp and 350Nm, coupled to an 8-soeed automatic gearbox that sends power to read wheels. With the paddles shifters, the 530i can do the

0-100kmph sprint in just 6.1 seconds. BMW is also offering a service package to the customers starting at Rs 17,300 per year.

To make the 530i Sport safer, the company offers six air bags, Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) with brake assist, Active PDC rear, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) including Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), Cornering Brake Control (CBC), Hill Descent Control (HDC), Side-impact Protection, crash sensor and integrated emergency spare wheel. Adaptive LED Headlights along with BMW Selective Beam anti-dazzle high beam can automatica­lly adjust its concentrat­ed gaze onto the road with a range of up to 500m.

BMW is also offering its customers to extend the service and repair packages up to 10 yrs / 2,00,000km during the run time by just paying a differenti­al amount. There is a similar package available for current BMW custom
