MG opens new dimensions
MG Motor India unveiled the Gloster SUV at the Auto Expo 2020, with prices expected to be between 40 lakh (ex-showroom) and Rs 50 lakh (ex-showroom), meaning the luxury SUV will be expensive than Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour and Mahindra Alturas G4. The upcoming MG Gloster is expected to be powered by a turbo-diesel engine that will churn out 218bhp and 480Nm of peak torque, mated to a 8-speed automatic transmission.
The Gloster looks quite impressive from the outside. It is a 7-seater based on the Maxus D90 SUV sold internationaly. At 5,005mm, the SUV is longer than Toyota Land Cruiser Prado and
Jeep Grand Cherokee. The Gloster has a wheelbase of 2,950mm, which is longer than the Land Cruiser Prado and the Grand Cherokee. The Gloster is 1,932mm wide and 1,875mm high.
The upcoming MG Gloster gets a bold front fascia with chrome triple slat grille which is symbolic to the
MG cars, automatic projector headlights with LED DRLs and LED taillights. Other exterior features include roof rails, panoramic sunroof and set of 21-inch alloy wheels. The MG Gloster will have a massive cabin with features like touchscreen infotainment system, multifunction steering wheel, tilt/telescopic steering, electric tailgate, automatic AC and ventilated seats. In India, the luxury SUV will be made available in a couple of seating configurations -6 (2+2+2) and 7 (2+3+2). Expect MG to make launch announcements soon.
