RE Interceptor 650
It has been another month with the Royal Enfield Interceptor and there is little to doubt the fact that the enthusiasm with has not dwindled even a bit. The bike continues to enthral me with its ballistic performance and the overall stability it offers. I love the subtle chrome treatment on the bike and the look overall is to die for. But this time round I thought of creating a wish list if I may call it so. These are things which I personally would love to get on the Interceptor.
Let’s begin with the instrument panel. The bike is endowed with a rather retro looking twin pod panel. I love the way the treatment here too. But I am unhappy because the panel is not informative enough. A larger digital readout with information like distance to empty, average speed etc would have been great. Not to forget a gear indicator! A mix of analogue and digital works as well. The next big thing on my wish list is a more modern headlamp. On a bike like this, people tend to head out more on the highways. On our Indian dark desolate conditions, a LED headlight would have been just perfect. However I can unofficially say that LED bulbs are available as aftermarket options. Unfortunately I am not to sure about the reliability factor and hence have stayed away from them. Next in que is the tyre. Not exactly the Pirellis as they offer excellent grip and inspires a lot of confidence. I love the way that a rather newer rider like me too can enjoy corners. However my wish list demands tubeless tyres as compared to standard tubed tyres.
