These BS-IV cars

THE INDIAN automobile industry transition­ed to cleaner emission norms from April 1, 2020 as vehicles will now feature BS-VI engines. However, not all vehicles will see this transition and are hence discontinu­ed by the respective manufactur­ers, simply because they were nearing their normal lifecycle and were anyways going to get the plugs pulled. Here are some of them that will no longer be made.

The first in the list is the Fiat Avventura, the crossover version of the third generation of the Grande Punto that started its production in 2007. In the last few years, the Avventura saw a slump in its sales; and was decided by the top bosses at FCA to discontinu­e it during the BS-VI transition.

Maruti Suzuki’s premium performanc­e oriented hatchback is no longer on sale as the carmaker decided to cease the production run of the Baleno RS. Launched in 2017 as a rival to the Volkswagen Polo GT,
