2021 Lexus IS sport sedan looks new
LEXUS UNVEILED the 2021 IS sport sedan, and while it looks sharper and fresher than the current IS, it’s essentially a major facelift riding on a revised version of the same platform. Every exterior body panel is new and even the door glass doesn’t seem to be carried over. The new IS has a lower sharklike front end with an even larger and more complex spindle grille than before. At rear, Lexus has connected low-down taillights with a central light bar. The diffuser is more pronounced and the license plate surround is less angular. Powertrains remain the same as the current model, too. The base rearwheel-drive IS 300 uses a turbocharged inline-four still producing 241bhp and 350Nm of torque, but the 8-speed automatic transmission has been revised. The Lexus IS 300 AWD uses a naturally aspirated 3.5-litre V6 that makes 260bhp and 320Nm, and it’s mated to a 6-speed automatic.
