Hero XPulse 200T

Michael and Ralph, Marc and Alex and now the 200 and the 200T history books are littered with sibling rivalries where one sibling has been, most often by chance, forced to live in the shadow of their more popular relative. The Xpulse 200T has been in the fleet for almost six months now, and we’re sad not just because it is a brilliant motorcycle in its own right but more so because it is finally time to say goodbye. In its time with us, the 200T not only served as a trusty commuter motorcycle for Prashant’s commute from literally across state lines but even on our annual office ride managed to keep pace with a whole set of torque biased Royal Enfields while never requiring a refuel! In my own time with the 200T its effortless­ness is what stood out. It was comfortabl­e enough to ride all day long with that smooth 200cc single-cylinder just coasting along at 80kmph with ease. In fact, I’d argue that its associatio­n to the Xpulse has actually made it a jack of all trades in contrast to the sibling who is master of one. The Xpulse’s capable chassis and suspension, albeit without the long travel suspension, is more than capable of riding though most terrains with ease. The engine is smooth with negligible vibes, meaning even out on the highway there’s minimal strain on the wrist. The seat which is exclusive to the 200T is another bonus being one of the most comfortabl­e seats I’ve used in the premium commuter segment by a considerab­le margin. That’s not all; within city limits and in traffic the 200T was easily the most fuel efficient vehicle in our long term fleet returning well over the 40kmpl mark. For a 200cc motorcycle in start stop traffic that is more than commendabl­e. We’re sad to see the 200T go. It truly was that one motorcycle that could do it all!
