Toyota all set for Urban Cruiser

-

TOYOTA INDIA is all set to launch its Urban Cruiser compact SUV, as bookings commenced from August 22 at an initial token amount of Rs 11,000. Now we know that the new Urban Cruiser is based on the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and is spawned from the Maruti Suzuki- Toyota partnership. The all new Urban Cruiser will be the second such product to be launched under the partnership after the Toyota Glanza which is based on the Maruti Suzuki Baleno.

The latest compact SUV from Toyota carries forward most of the exterior details of the Vitara Brezza. However, the highlight here is a slightly different fascia with a more aggressive appeal. The face is more pronounced and the grille gets two wide horizontal slats while the bumper gets sizeable faux air vents. The head lights are identical to the one found on the Brezza. The Urban Cruiser’s 16-inch alloys are the same as the Brezza’s featuring a dual-tone treatment. The interior design of the Urban Cruiser too has been carried over from the Vitara Brezza. The all-black seat upholstery has been replaced with a chocolate brown shade. The features list includes climate control, height adjustment for the driver’s seat, power windows, cruise control and rain-sensing wipers, along with touchscreen infotainment with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Maruti Suzuki’s new SmartPlay Studio system. Under the hood will be Maruti Suzuki’s K15 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine and will be coupled with a manual as well as an automatic gearbox option. Power output remains at 105bhp and 138Nm of peak torque. Toyota will also offer the smart hybrid system from Maruti Suzuki with the automatic variants of the Urban

Cruiser.
