Mahindra reinvents the Thar
The iconic 4x4 retains the classic design that packs in all-new mechanicals, a more upmarket cabin and car-like features
Mahindra has taken the wraps off the brand new Thar that's slated to go on sale on October 2 and in terms of mechanicals, features and engines, it is a big leap forward. The Thar follows the same philosophy as most other modern interpretations of iconic off-roaders like the Jeep Wrangler, Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen, Ford Bronco and the Land Rover Defender with its classic Jeep inspired lines, circular headlamps and an upright multi slat grille. One of the most noteworthy improvements is the availability of a factoryfitted hardtop. It will also be available with a fixed soft top in the lower AX grade and a removable soft top as well, along with removable doors. The tailgate is hinged to the right and the rear windshield flips up to reveal a very modest space for small backpacks and shopping bags with the second row up.
