Mahindra has taken the wraps off the brand new Thar that's slated to go on sale on October 2 and in terms of mechanicals, features and engines, it is a big leap forward. The Thar follows the same philosophy as most other modern interpretations of iconic off-roaders like the Jeep Wrangler, Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen, Ford Bronco and the Land Rover Defender with its classic Jeep inspired lines, circular headlamps and an upright multi slat grille. One of the most noteworthy improvements is the availability of a factoryfitted hardtop. It will also be available with a fixed soft top in the lower AX grade and a removable soft top as well, along with removable doors.
