Volvo’s S60 makes a comeback

VOLVO CAR INDIA launched the allnew Volvo S60 at an introducto­ry price of Rs 45.90 lakh (ex-showroom), which is only applicable for a limited number of online bookings. At the heart is a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that delivers 190bhp and 300Nm, mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox. There are three drive modes to choose from - Comfort, Eco and Dynamic. The luxury sedan is 4,761mm in length, 2,040mm in width and 1,431mm in height, and has a 2,872mm long wheelbase. The entrylevel sedan is based on Volvo’s Scalable Product Architectu­re (SPA) platform and has received a 5-star rating from Euro NCAP. Talking about safety, the S60 has something called City Safety with steering support, which is essentiall­y an autobrake technology that assists the driver in avoiding potential collisions, and is the only system in the market to recognize pedestrian­s, cyclists and large animals. The company is also offering an exclusive Tre Kronor Experience program to early buyers that will include a host of priority and personalis­ed experience­s for the customers. Rivals include the BMW 3 Series, Mercedes-Benz CClass, Jaguar XE and Audi A4.

THE LATEST Mercedes S-Class debuts the 2021 Mercedes Me Connect that offers a host of voice integrated technology in conjunctio­n with Amazon and Google. Called the Maestro Edition, this new trim with Alexa and Google Home integratio­n lets you set reminders, unlock the car, switch the air-conditioni­ng and many more functions, while sitting at home. Priced at Rs 1.51 crore (ex-showroom, India), it also features Magic Sky Control, which allows the opacity of the two-section sunroof to be set independen­tly.
