Renault to introduce new products

-

GROUPE RENAULT revealed its strategy for the next five years and beyond, as part of its ‘Renaulution’ program, that will see the French carmaker bring in new products based on two dedicated electric platforms CMF-EV and CMF-B EV, and will also offer market-ready, end-to-end hydrogen solutions for LCVs. The new line-up will help the brand win back its place amongst Csegment leaders whilst maintaining its Bsegment leadership. A total of 14 models will be launched by 2025, including seven electric and seven C and D segment vehicles, with an aim to achieve 45 per cent of total sales by then. One such example is a new Renault 5 that is being revived as an electric car. And there will be a hot-hatch Alpine version as well. There’s a lot of the original 5 in the front and rear lights, and the profile and rear pillar shape, plus the flattish surfaces, and the wheels make a nod to the original three-spokes. No details on the interior yet, as well as any information on the powertrain, performance, or range. We, however, do expect the production version to use much more modern underpinnings than the existing Zoe EV hatchback. A few reports suggest that the electric version will be a front-wheel drive version instead of a rear-wheel-drive version like the original, but these are all speculations. A production version will launch in less than three years from now, that will replace the electric Zoe once it comes to the market.
