Skoda Kushaq to reach showrooms soon

-

SKODA AUTO INDIA announced the roll out of the first Kushaq unit from its plant in Chakan, Pune. Slated to be launched by end of this month, the deliveries for the mid-size SUV will begin next month. Additionally, the company also announced that it has managed to achieve localization levels up to 95 per cent, hinting at an aggressive price tag to take on the likes of Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, MG Hector, Tata Harrier and the soon-tobe-launched Volkswagen Taigun. Built on the India-specific MQB-A0-IN variant of the Volkswagen Group’s MQB-A0 platform, the new Kushaq will be powered by a couple of locally manufactured TSI engine options. There is a 3-cylinder, 1.0-litre, TSI petrol motor with 115bhp and 175Nm, coupled with 6-speed MT and 6-speed AT torque converter options, and a 4-cylinder, 1.5-litre, TSI petrol mill developing 150bhp and 250Nm, mated to either a 6-speed MT or a 7-speed DSG automatic options.
