Lamborghini announces future roadmap
ITALIAN SUPERCAR maker Lamborghini announced it will launch a fully-electric car in the second half of the decade. Presenting a transformation program, Lamborghini laid out “a roadmap for the decarbonization of future Lamborghini models and of the Sant’Agata Bolognese site,” its factory headquarters in Italy, and said the next decade will see the company transition to producing hybrid models before it launches a fully-electric car by 2030.
Lamborghini’s roadmap will comprise of three phases, of which the first phase includes introducing two new cars in the V12 model line-up to be announced this year. The second phase would see the company launch its first hybrid series production car by 2023, and electrify its entire range of vehicles by 2024.
The company will also reduce its CO2 emissions by 50 per cent by the beginning of 2025. The third and final phase includes dedicating the second part of the decade to full-electric vehicles, with the vision of a fourth model in the future. The roadmap also lists the brand’s 360° approach towards 2030 and starts from a holistic vision of the company’s sustainability strategy.
