All-electric BMW i4 slated for US launch in 2022

ALONGSIDE THE new iX, the BMW i4 sedan makes an appearance for the U.S market and there’s an M version too. We estimate that the car will make it to India in the following future but that’s a topic of discussion for later. The BMW i4 M50 eDrive40 will come equipped with the latest generation of batteries with a maximum DC fast charging capacity of up to 200 kW and AC Level 2 charging of up to 11kW. The eDrive40 delivers an estimated range of around 483km and the M50 an estimated range of 394km.

The M50 is powered by a front 255bhp electric motor and a rear 308bhp motor, which together puts out 536bhp. The single rear electric motor eDrive40 delivers 335bhp. The Sport Boost function increases the system’s combined power to 536bhp for over ten seconds. At the same time, combined torque is upped to a massive 795Nm.
