Meet Ferrari’s new hybrid stallion
FERRARI REVEALED its new mid-rearengined berlinetta sports car, the 296 GTB, featuring the first V6 engine installed on a road car sporting the Prancing Horse badge.
The car’s name, which combines its 2.9-litre unit, 6-cylinders with the Gran Turismo Berlinetta acronym, is coupled to a 7.45kWh electric motor capable of delivering 819bhp, and 740Nm paired to an 8-speed DCT unit.
Designed at Ferrari’s Styling Centre, the
296 GTB is the most compact berlinetta to emerge from Maranello in the last decade, thanks to its short wheelbase and sculpted structure, while maintaining its muscular appearance. The front is adorned by a visor-style windscreen that wraps around the side windows, and connects to the rear with a unique, three-dimensional glass surface that showcases the engine. In profile, the new 296 GTB sports a new alloy wheel with a twin spoke design. Inside, the new model features an entirely digital interface, similar to the SF90 Stradale.
