Yamaha launches new 150cc competitor

YAMAHA LAUNCHED the new FZ-X at a starting price of Rs 1.17 lakh for the standard model, while the Bluetoothe­quipped trim is slightly more expensive at Rs 1.20 lakh (all prices exshowroom, India). Powering the FZ-X is the same motor from the FZ series, which translates to a 149cc BS6 engine developing 12.2bhp and 13.6Nm.The chassis too is lifted straight off the FZ. It will also get premium features like LED headlamps inset DRLs and LED tail lamps.

The instrument cluster is LCD but gets a Bluetooth connectivi­ty option on premium models that allow for a number of telemetric features but no navigation or media control. Moreover, the FZ-X is available in a number of color schemes including a matte black and orange livery, a retro-blue and a silver and gray finish. The official bookings are open now and can be made online, with the first 200 customers will get a custom Yamaha x G-shock “Casioak”. Deliveries are expected to begin in August.
