Volkswagen India relentlessly focused towards reducing its total cost of ownership (TCO), and introduced its 4EVER Care program at the onset of 2019. The new program offered 4-year warranty, road-side assistance (RSA) and three free services in the first year, and aims at offering customers a value-formoney proposition by covering major repairs and maintenance services, thus providing a hassle-free ownership experience. Additionally, Volkswagen dealerships and workshops provide free 10-point checkup, including free pickup and drop of vehicles and offers on purchase of tires, batteries or services like AC disinfectant and germ clean treatment for the safety of the customers. Even during lockdown caused due to the pandemic, Volkswagen continued providing onsite service to customers through its VW Assistance cars and responded to

emergencies by fixing breakdowns for over 400 customers. The Indian-arm of the German carmaker also provides a transparent and hassle-free ownership experience. With reduced cost of genuine spare parts by up to 11 per cent, and engine oil prices been slashed by almost 32 per cent, customers could further reduce the ownership costs by 24 per cent by availing VW’s ‘Service Value Packages’. Volkswagen’s best-selling models like the Polo and the Vento are now 23 to 25 per cent (depending upon the variant) economical to own, and will also be applicable on soon-to-be-launched Taigun SUV. The extended warranty programs and service value packages, which cover the average 7-year lifetime of a vehicle, can be booked through its official website.

The automaker also expanded its fleet of mobile service units, which now covers nearly 80 per cent of the country offering door-step service facilities. The service units are equipped to undertake small repair and

maintenance work alongside quick vehicle checkup. Another initiative by the brand includes the ‘Volkswagen Service Cam’ that seeks prior consent from the vehicle owner before completing additional repairs. The customer can inspect the vehicle via a video recording before approving the requested scope of work. Customers now also have the option to calculate and view their service estimate on the brand’s official website even before booking a service appointment. Icing on the cake is one-price policy ensuring uniform costs across the country. To top it all off, all of Volkswagen’s services are accessible via Whatsapp.
