Hyundai Creta

After almost a two month absence, the Hyundai Creta has returned to the Auto Today fleet and, this time around, I’ve managed to grab its keys. Despite the Creta’s nearly 10-month long stint with us, I’ve actually never been able to stake claim and use it as my daily. And barely a few weeks behind its wheel, and it isn’t hard to see why it sells the way it does month after month and why buyers seem to be blindly picking up the Creta in this segment without, in many cases, even taking as much as a test drive before handing over the cheque.

The aural experience served up by the Creta’s 8-speaker Bose sound system is one of the many highlights of its exhaustive features list. If you’re unsure of taking my word for it, high praise from our latest recruit who accompanied me on a day long assignment to Agra (page 80) should help douse some of that scepticism considering he’s heavily involved in the music industry. Another feature on my list of likes is seat ventilation that isn’t just great at keeping your backside cool, it also helps bring down surface temperature of that leatherette seat upholstery which can get unbearably hot if parked out in the sun too long, more so if you leave the massive panoramic sunroof’s sunblind open. Prima facie, I’m yet to find an aspect of the Creta I don’t quite like, but I’m fairly certain my penchant for criticism will unearth a dislike or two over the coming months.
