The Royal Enfield Interceptor raised the bar rather high for all the motorcycles which would come from the brand thereafter. So the Meteor 350 had a lot to prove when it got launched. We have been riding the bike ever since the launch and although Covid-19 lockdowns restricted us from much movement in the past year, we have come to realize that the new Meteor 350 sure is a worthy successor to the Thunderbird. The bike looks much like the erstwhile Thunderbird and we somehow love it. The sweeping tank and raised handle bar coupled with the low seat offers a very comfortable riding position. This means that on those longer rides, we enjoyed the comfort. The rider’s seat is comfy but the same cannot be said for the pillion seat which seems small. The biggest reason for comfort then is the new 350cc engine. The bike rides vibe-free and as a result one can ride longer without feeling tired. The engine also offers a lot of grunt and the bike can hit 120kmph without much fuss. Point to be noted is that even at these speeds the bike is vibe-free. Quite an achievement we must say. The instrument panel is a nice two-pod affair and the smaller Tripper nav pod is easy to use and refer to on the go. The only thing is that those who are not accustomed to turn by turn navigation will take some time to get used to this format. We also missed having the tacho which was a Thunderbird special feature. The other topic I would like to touch upon is the build quality. Royal Enfield has really upped the game at their end and as a result the Meteor 350 has held on to the factory fresh sheen. Nothing has fallen off or gotten dull. Every chrome element still shines after a quick wipe. Quite simply put the Meteor 350 has truly impressed us and we can recommend it to you whole heartedly.
