Royal Enfield SG650

-

That Royal Enfield was working on a 650cc cruiser was an open secret. The company revealed the concept version of the same at EICMA 2021. There is little to doubt that the SG650 is a brand new motorcycle designed from the ground up. However, from the choice of aesthetic finishes, to the materials that have been used all scream classic Royal Enfield. Few such examples include the heritage-inspired polished aluminium front end, flowing into the futuristic digital graphic on the tank. There are some really special elements to this motorcycle that are a first for a Royal Enfield concept - many of the component parts have been individually, one-off fabricated or designed exclusively for this motorcycle. The tank has been CNC billet machined from a solid block of aluminium, as have the wheel rims with integrated ABS, bespoke designed brake calipers, and dual front brake discs. The SG650 also features a rather classy tank which houses the RE logo in blue. The upside down forks, integrated aluminium top nacelle unit and low rise extrawider bars with all aluminium switch cubes just add to the modern feel of the SG650. The bike comes with a single seat set up and a short fender at the back which also houses the tail light. As far as technical details are concerned, we can spot the dual disc brakes up front and USD forks as well. The frame is a dual cradle unit which houses the same parallel-twin unit as in the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650. This engine churns out 47bhp and 52Nm of torque. The blacked out exhausts are new and look awesome.
