Banking Frontiers

A Business Thriller

- Manoj@bankingfrontiers.com

Athriller is a novel which has 2 special elements. First is that there is a big unknown which keeps engaging the reader to read further and further. Second is that the story reveals the picture bit by bit, but also creates new curiosity as it goes along. And ofcourse, the pace of action is fast.

Most thriller novels revolve around crime. What about a thriller about business? Very few. What about a thriller that unveils the principles of business success? Even rarer. One such book I read recently is Cracking the CRM Code, by Limesh Parekh - CEO, Enjay IT Solutions.

When I first got the book, I was not particularly eager to read it. I must have heard the term CRM about 20 years ago and read so much about it….what could possibly be interesting in this book. But the similarity between the title of this book and the thriller Da Vinci Code did tug me to pick up the book and start reading.

The very first page made it clear that this is a novel. Since I have been a novel lover, this was added motivation to read on. As I read through the pages, Limesh cleverly unfolds a series of insights about business. This turns out to be a book about principles for managing business, of which CRM is a key enabler. Frankly, the book is un-put-downable, as any thriller is.

Not only has Limesh mastered several principles of business, he has explained them very lucidly in the form of dialogs between 4 friends, all of whom are entrepreneurs facing a variety of business challenges.

Kudos to Limesh f or quit e a masterpiece. I recommend this book as a must read for every entrepreneur and any manager, particularly in customer engaging and planning roles. MBA students will find this not only insightful, but a welcome change from dull textbooks.
