Kotak Mahindra Bank effects leadership changes
Kotak Mahindra Bank has made major changes in its leadership. It has elevated K.V.S. Manian, who is currently Whole Time Director - Corporate, Institutional & Investment Banking & Wealth Management as Joint MD. He will assume the responsibility of spearheading the growth of Wholesale Bank, Commercial Bank, Private Banking, Asset Reconstruction Division and Wholesale Credit and continue to have oversight over the Institutional Equities and Investment Banking businesses of the Group.
Shanti Ekambaram, who is now Wholetime Director of the bank, has been promoted as Deputy MD. In her new role, she will continue to drive the growth of 811, the bank’s digital bank, Treasury and Global Markets businesses in addition to overseeing the functions of Human Resources, Group Marketing & Corporate Communications, Internal Vigilance, Internal Audit (administrative matters), Public Affairs, Corporate Social Responsibility and ESG. She will also continue to have oversight over Kotak Mahindra Financial Services and Kotak Karma subsidiaries.
The bank has also appointed Devang Gheewalla as CFO and he will be taking over from Jaimin Bhatt, who will be retiring on 31 March. The 2 other new appointments are that of Milind Nagnur
as COO and Paul Parambi as Group CRO. Milind will continue to be the bank’s CTO and will take additional responsibility for bank operations, group technology architecture and cybersecurity functions. Paul will have responsibilities at the Group level.
Manian has been with the Kotak Group for more than 30 years and has held several key functions. Before the promotion as Joint MD, he was Wholetime Director for Corporate, Institutional & Investment Banking and Wealth and has also been President - Corporate and Investment Bank and Group Head - Consumer Banking. He is a B.Tech from Banaras Hindu University and has an MMS in Finance from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies.
Shanti Ekambaram has spent more than 19 years with the bank. She was Wholetime Director, Group President - Consumer Banking & Member of the Group Management Council and President - Corporate & Investment Banking. She has also been ED and CEO at Kotak Mahindra Capital Companies.
