With 607 branches spread across all the districts, Chattisgarh Rajya Gramin Bank is the largest networked bank of the state. Its 565 (93%) branches are in rural/ semi-urban areas. Since FY2015, a total of 25 branches have been opened so far, most of them being in remote, rural areas. It is adding 10 new branches in FY2019. From a total of 286 in FY 16, the Bank Mitra count has also gone up to 510 (up by 78%).
R. K. Gupta, chairman since 01.09.2015, says: “We are vigorously promoting the Bank Mitra model for improving our outreach. This includes 103 Bank Sakhis (only women SHG members).”
The bank is functioning through 10 RBOs (headed by regional managers) located at geographically suitable centers. At HO, besides the chairman, 4 general managers from sponsor bank are available. The bank is having 2 networks consisting of 5 RBOs each.
The new head office complex of the bank, CRGB Bhavan, at Naya Raipur is now being constructed and according to Gupta, the bank would start functioning from the new premises from FY2020 onwards.
